Who We Are
Tanzania Health Informatics Association (TAHIA) was officially registered on 18th October 2021 under the Society Act ( CAP.337 R.E. 2002) with Registration number S.A.22619. TAHIA is a society of experts of health informatics in Tanzania which focuses on effective skills and knowledge sharing intervention, advocacy, Research and Innovation of health informatics for Health System Strengthening to bring efficiency in Health services delivery.
TAHIA is organizing a Health Informatics Conference and Exhibition in May 2022 which will be opened by the Minister of Health, Hon Ummy Mwalimu and will be closed by the Chief Medical officer of Tanzania. In this conference Implementing partners, Development partners and Government institutions will be invited to write abstracts and present Health informatics initiatives, lessons learnt, challenge and Recommendations to enhance knowledge sharing to promote platform of professional excellency.
TAHIA recognizes the importance and implementation of the Health Sector Strategic Plan 2021-2025 (HSSP V) and Digital Health strategy (2019-2024). One of the key objectives outlined in these strategies is emphasis on leveraging on the use of Health Informatics to transform the healthcare system as part of the on-going health reforms. To achieve this objective, TAHIA is working towards emphasizing informatics knowledge sharing as a platform for sharpening informatics skills through embarking on Health Informatics Conference and Exhibition.
